Northeast Community News – April 11, 2016

Dear Friends and Family!
Healing! Sometimes it is a miraculous event from hand of God! Sometimes, it can come from a non-invasive treatment or ‘miracle drug.’ Sometimes, as it was for me, it comes as a result of a scalpel in the hands of a highly trained surgeon! But, starting Sunday we will have the opportunity to be healed in another way! How? Through the anointed preaching of our visiting Evangelist Rev. Bill Ulmet!
I can still remember the first time I heard an evangelist speak. I was thinking (back then), “Yeah, you’re just a slick professional speaker…” but as he opened God’s Word that day I received a deep, profound healing in my soul. Later, I would understand he wasn’t just a ‘slick professional speaker,’ but an anointed man of God led by the Holy Spirit to bring all of us opportunities for healing, conviction, encouragement, and empowerment!
Now, you may not be as jaded and skeptical as this old biker was 25 years ago... (hopefully not), but if you need healing… if you need encouragement, empowerment, or just a fresh encounter with God, I want to encourage you to come to our revival. As for me, I’ve never been the same! And now some 25 years later, I’m still hungry for more! Are you?
Rev. Ulmet will be preaching in our regular Sunday 11amservice this week and then will continue to bring God’s Word to us on Sun., Mon., Tue., and Wed. nights at 6:30pm
God’s message this week came from Acts 9:1-19 and was titled, ‘When the Other Becomes My Brother.’ If you haven’t read the book of Acts yet, just do it! You’ll discover when Jesus said, But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8). He really meant it! After Pentecost the once fearful disciples flooded the streets boldly declaring the wonders of God. Peter, who had earlier denied Christ three, was now boldly preaching and 3,000 were saved. John and Peter are now boldly proclaiming the good news to the Jewish High court. And now in Acts c. 9 we find the Spirit of Christ encountering a thug and a disciple and both were radically changed!
The man who had been large and in charge (Saul) was suddenly powerless, blind, and humbled. The man quietly living in Damascus as a disciple (Ananias) was now challenged by the Spirit of Christ to overcome his fears and go to Saul and pray for his healing! Saul would become the greatest missionary ever and Ananias discovered courage and a brother who had been his worst enemy. How can this be? Through the power and the presence of the Holy Spirit! Revival is coming! The Spirit is still moving! Get ready! Blessings, Pastor Dan
